Host a dinner party with hilarious conversation
May 07, 2009
Conversations at dinner parties can be lively, intellectual and engaging. But can they be hilarious and nonsensical too?
One party game does just this by having your guests say certain phrases or ask certain questions throughout the evening.
It starts with you writing out the phrases and questions on little index cards and placing them under the guests' dinner plate. The guests are told to read the card and not share it with anyone. The point of the game is to incorporate the phrase or question at some point in the night without the other guests knowing it was the pre-determined phrase.
In terms of the phrase or question, they should be ridiculous enough in nature to make it difficult to bring up in a dinner party setting. Try using ones such as "Robots will soon take over and force us to dance" or "Do trees talk to you too?"
At the end of the evening, consider having a prize for the guest who used his or her phrase the quickest or with the most creativity. And prepare yourself for some crazy conversations that night.
