Picking engagement party decorations
May 20, 2009
Many couples enjoy throwing an engagement party, sometimes as a way for the families to get to know each other or to celebrate the fact that someone finally popped the question.
In terms of timing, there is no clear-cut rule. Families can host the party fairly soon after the engagement happens or wait till wedding plans start to get finalized.
For party planners who may have some time to prepare, making party decorations as personal as possible is ideal for an event such as this. Framing some old photographs of them from various stages of their relationship is a good idea, especially if the couple has been going out for a long time.
Little artifacts from the couple's relationship can add more depth as well. Some couples like to keep things like movie stubs from dates, concert tickets and small gifts given to each other that have a special meaning.
Displaying these things during the party, along with a quick explanation, can also help the families get to know each other.
