Pool party game: Diving for treasure
June 08, 2009
It's a fair assumption that children and adults of all ages love finding treasure, so why not turn that feeling of found goodies into a pool party game?
This can be done with any size pool, provided there's enough room for your guests to dive down and search for the trinkets on the bottom.
The trinkets should be big enough to be spotted, but not harmful to the children in the pool. One idea is to use colored gem stones, which can be easily seen and heavy enough to sink.
Pick three or four different colors and only use those stones in the pool. Once a guest has found them (it may be a good idea to have a limit on how many stones a person can collect), have them bring them back to you for a prize.
With the prizes, party planners can have one treasure chest or have the color of the stone correlate to certain boxes a guest can pick out of.
One word of caution: be sure to spread out the gems around the pool so that a number of divers aren't all grabbing in the same area and be sure the activity is being supervised by a parent.
