Using old clothes for a costume party
June 10, 2009
With many retail and department stores slashing the prices on some of their clothes, it may be the perfect time to get some older outfits out of the closet to make room for new ones.
However, instead of just throwing them right into a trash bag for donation, why not give them one last time to shine?
Get your kids to invite their friends over and let them rummage through some of your old clothes for a wild and wacky costume party that, if you're lucky, could turn into a hilarious fashion show.
It's best to organize the clothes before hand in various piles, such as shirts, pants, hats and sweaters. If you have any, include some old jewelry or glasses so that the guests can accessories their new outfits.
When everyone has their new look prepared, make a space in the living room for the impromptu fashion show, complete with some high-energy music playing in the background.
Don't forget your camera as you will be sure to see some hilarious creations. You may also find a talented fashionista within the group by the end of the day.
