Wedding thank-you cards important as ever
June 16, 2009
Despite the recession, which has inspired some people to cut back on spending in certain aspects of their budget, it appears wedding guests are still purchasing lavish gifts for the newly-married couple.
According to a survey from Brides.com and the Associated Press, the most popular price range for bought wedding gifts was between $100 and $199.
And because wedding gifts can come well before the ceremony, thanks to many couples setting up their gift registries in advance, it's a good idea to have a stack of thank you cards ready to go.
To make them a bit more personal, brides and grooms should think about using a picture of them either from their collection or one from their engagement photo shoot.
Inside, be sure to have a hand-written note that specifically references the gift received. One way to do this is for the couple to write a quick story about how they used the gift or how the present has enhanced their life.
If the card is to be sent after the wedding, also include a line thanking them for coming to the ceremony.
