Celebrate National Pink Day with your little ladies
June 19, 2009
Lots of girls love the color pink and believe it or not, June 23 is National Pink Day so mark this day with your little ladies in some of the following ways.
Since Tuesday is the day of all things pink, little girls may want to pick out a pink outfit to wear for the day.
Consider having a mini fashion show the night before of festive pink outfits, and if she's not too young, have a pink nail polish party, where you all paint your nails in the day's celebrated shade.
For the fashion show, girls can model their pink outfits on a living room runway to one of Pink's albums.
If your daughter is a pre-teen, consider settling down to watch the film Pretty in Pink and maybe snack on some homemade popcorn - red food coloring in the melted butter is optional, but a fun touch.
A pink-themed dinner could also be a neat way to mark National Pink Day but first, discuss pink foods with the other ladies to see what you can come up with.
Some healthy pink options include low-fat strawberry milkshakes, pasta with rose-cream sauce, ham sandwiches with pink lady apple slices and pink frosted cupcakes or sugar cookies.
