Bad movie party
July 14, 2009
Sometimes the best part of watching a movie with a group of friends is the commentary that erupts when a serious movie produces some unintentional comedy.
Capitalize on this fun experience by throwing a bad movie night party where the premise is to gather some of your funniest friends and let them loose on a film that may leave a lot to be desired.
Think of it as Mystery Science Theater 3000, only with chips and dip.
In the party invitations, tell your guests how the night will play out and inform them to prepare their best one-liners for the evening. If successful, this may even turn into a regular thing where you and your friends attempt to find the worst movie ever made.
For those who may not have the stamina, Entertainment Weekly published an article a couple of years ago naming the film Manos: The Hands of Fate the worst movie ever made.
Despite the weak plot (family gets lost in the desert, then abducted), the film showcases a stunning display of filmmaking mistakes from editing to characters proclaiming the sun is setting when it's clearly noon.
Pop in Manos and let the mocking begin!
