Relive gaming childhood with Wii Punch Out party
July 15, 2009
For gamers who are still haunted by Nintendo's original Punch Out game, redemption may be right around the corner.
Nintendo recently released one of its most beloved games for the Wii, its game console that utilizes wireless controllers.
This offers a great opportunity for party planners with a lot of friends who are gamers to host a gathering centered on the video game.
Ask guests to come in the most appropriate boxing gear they have (shorts and t-shirt should suffice). Anyone who can re-create Little Mac, the protagonist in the game, should be given a special prize.
For people who are unfamiliar with the game or with the Nintendo Wii, it won't be hard to teach the mechanisms of either. Simply punch the air with the controllers in hand to make Little Mac fight his opponents.
A fun aspect to add to the party is to play the soundtrack to various Rocky movies to get people in the mood.
Don't forget to provide food for energy and consider implementing a tournament among your guests. At the end of the party, award the boxer with the most wins with a homemade champion of the world belt.
