Make a party of putting together wedding invites
August 10, 2009
There are many unglamorous tasks associated with planning and organizing a wedding and any couple about to get married will inform you that stuffing envelopes is one such task.
Rather than yawn alone over putting invitations together and filling up envelopes, make a party out of the event and bring a bunch of friends over for laughs and work.
Host the party at the bride or maid of honor's house so all the items such as envelopes, invitations and menu choice cards are kept together. It's a good idea to hold the envelope stuffing while seated at a table so nothing is accidentally squashed and ruined.
In addition, if you're going to provide food, be sure to put out plenty of napkins and either eat before working, or wait until all the envelopes are filled.
To combat having to feed guests, consider hosting the event in the evening after work and serve a range of herbal teas and coffee and cookies or wine with flavored crackers. Avoid anything sticky!
Another idea is to ask participants to suggest songs to play at the reception and keep out a notebook with a running list artists, songs and album titles.
