Come together over The Beatles
August 13, 2009
A person's age matters not when it comes to the music of The Beatles, as young and old alike unite over the catchy tunes, easy lyrics and the sheer volume of tunes.
One way to celebrate the Beatles' work is to host both a listening party and a Rock Band tournament. You should start planning this now as the Beatles Rock Band game is set to come out next month.
Consider making Beatles mix CDs to send out as invitations and print the date and time right on the discs themselves. Include a few big hits and some obscure songs on the compilation.
At the party, you'll only need Rock Band equipment, Beatles music, food, drinks, the game and perhaps a competition bracket, if you have enough participants. Otherwise, remember to keep score so the winner can be aptly crowned champion.
Encourage friends and family to bring their favorite munchies and drinks, but it's always a good idea to have a few things on hand yourself.
As your guests arrive, play Beatles music to get them in the mood and keep things light and relaxing before the real competition kicks in. Ask friends to talk about their favorite Beatles moment, song or memory that matches a song to spark conversation.
