Back to school party for adults

It's finally here. After three long months of summer vacation, the kids are heading back to school. Parents, it's time to rejoice and toast the summer away with an early evening backyard party.
This is also a good time to de-stress from back-to-school shopping and allow some worn-out and dads to find some peace and comfort among friends.
Send out party invitations shaped like school buses and write on the inside that soon enough the magical yellow vehicle will be taking the kids away for roughly six hours a day.
Decorations should be simple, since this is an event that is supposed to foster a relaxing atmosphere. Consider some soft Christmas lights hung around a small tree or lit candles on the table.
Since you will be toasting away the hectic summer, have everyone bring their favorite bottle of wine. This will give your guests a nice variety to choose from. As for snacks, consider having sliced cheese and fruit, along with crackers. Brie is an excellent way to complement certain red wines.
Don't forget some music, either through a portable radio or speakers hooked up to an MP3 player.
