What to serve at your NFL party
August 18, 2009
Are you ready for some football?
For football fans of all ages, the excitement of a new season is back in the air, which means Sundays will be dedicated to watching the pigskin fly from one end of the field to the other.
This is also a great time for party planners to shine in terms of making creative snacks for the hungry fans.
Keep in mind that with large groups, most people will not want to carry around utensils to eat their food. This means finger foods and lots of it. Consider pigs-in-a-blanket or scallops wrapped in bacon. There's always the option of ordering a pizza and cutting it up into bite-size pieces.
For larger offerings, consider making dip and placing it in a large bowl. While there are many recipes to choose from, a simple one can include chili, shredded cheese and refried beans.
As for drinks, forget about soda and instead serve what the players drink on the field: water and Gatorade. One fun element could be to get a Gatorade water cooler and paper Gatorade cups for your guests to use.
