Vintage G.I. Joe toy party

Recently, the film G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra was released in the theaters, much to the delight of fans that still cherish their toys from childhood.

So why not throw a party to recognize and celebrate that love?

Send out party invitations calling for all of your friends to dig up their old G.I. Joe action figures. For those who don't have them anymore, suggest they dress up as their favorite character from the beloved cartoon from the 1980s.

As for party decorations, it would be ideal to have the old G.I. Joe logo hung up on the wall. However, if that's hard to find, consider printing out pictures of the cartoon characters and hanging them up on the wall.

This is also a good opportunity to create personalized party favors, though maybe not with your guests' names. Instead, hand out favors with the names of some of the popular characters from the show that include Hawk, Breaker and Cover Girl.

Top it off with a viewing of some of your favorite episodes from the classic television series with some snacks on the side for people to munch on. And don't forget to lead the crowd in a sing-a-long with the show's theme song.
