Gather friends for a music discovery party
August 28, 2009
Music enthusiasts are always looking for new bands, so why not get everyone together to share their resources?
With so many music blogs, websites and magazines out there, it can be difficult for one person to keep track of them all.
Inviting friends over with their MP3 players and laptops may be a good way for everyone to share their favorite sites or new bands that they recently discovered.
Because laptops and the internet are involved, this kind of party will work best for a smaller group and if the host has wireless internet in their home. This will allow everyone to be online and to discuss whatever they find.
Make sure everyone has a workspace for their computer and that they are near an outlet so their batteries won't run out.
Also, have speakers nearby for the laptops to plug into if someone finds a really good gem. And don't forget to have some treats on the table since scouring the internet for new finds can be exhausting.
For party decorations, consider putting up pictures of old covers of vinyl records to get everyone in the hipster music mood.
