Thumb war tournament
September 02, 2009
Competition is in the air.
With the regular baseball season getting close to the playoffs, the NFL regular season starting and college football set to start, it's a great time to be a sports fan.
For those hosting game-watching parties in their home, why not add a little bit of actual competition for your guests?
A good old-fashioned thumb war tournament may be just the thing to keep things living during commercial breaks or halftime updates. Thumb wars, for those who don't know, are when two people lock hands and see whose thumb can pin the other down.
The game works best with a large group and it's up to you how involved the scoring can be. While some like to create a tournament board akin to the annual college basketball tournament, others like to have casual games.
Either one can be a lot of fun for the guests, especially when there are prizes for the winners at the end. For those who appear to be unbeatable, suggest they take on two wars at once and see how well they do.
