Make yourself over for fall

The end of summer may mean your tan has faded, but that doesn't mean you have to look drab.
Invite your friends over for a makeover party to rejuvenate your look and prepare for fall.
Set up individual makeup stations for each guest. Tell them to bring their own tools, but create personalized hairbrushes or combs using fabric paint and stick-on jewels to welcome them. Make signs with each girl's name and hang the cards above the mirror.
Decorate your house in darker colors to provide the palette of the season using fabric to drape over lamps to create dramatic lighting. Hang posters over photos of your favorite fall looks for inspiration.
Give each girl a personalized goodie bag equipped with a journal and feather pen with their name on it. Buy a Polaroid camera to take before and after shots and encourage each girl to write her step-by-step makeover process down to use in the future.
Once you've armed your home for makeup madness, exchange tips for dramatic smoky eyes or lining lips in dark shades. If they're old enough, get the kids involved and give them mini-makeovers, too just don't let them know where you keep your favorite mascara.
