Show your school spirit
September 30, 2009
by hosting a spirit party.
Inspire everyone by decorating your home with streamers and banners showing your team's name and colors.
If your school or team sells inexpensive and plain t-shirts, purchase a few for your guests to customize. You may also buy plain shirts in team colors to encourage a little more creativity.
Provide iron-on lettering, fabric paint and large patches. On the back of the shirts, each person can write their name or sport-inspired nickname to give the shirt more of a personal touch.
To replace played-out "go team" chants, hold a contest to see who can come up with the catchiest cheer. Have everyone vote on the best rally call and name its creator your group's cheerleader. Give the winner a customized bullhorn to call cheers at the big game.
To keep your guests warm during cold nights on the field, decorate travel mugs for each of them to hold copious amounts of hot cocoa.
Before the next major match, give everyone window paint for the cars to let everyone on the road know who's coming.
