Vamp up your Halloween Party
October 09, 2009
You don't have to be a die-hard Twilight fan to have fun at a vampire-themed Halloween party.
What's a vampire without fangs? Have a bowl of plastic fangs at the door so that guests are fully outfitted for the festivities.
Make sure to provide snacks and beverages that your vampire guests will appreciate. Blood-red sangria, devil's food cake, and bat wings (chicken wings) would all make for fun party snacks.
You could even make a bloody fondue - either melt red-colored white chocolate wafers (which are available at most craft stores and supermarkets) or add your own red food coloring to white chocolate chips. Then guests can enjoy pretzels, fruit and sponge cake dripping with (white chocolate) blood.
Use party decorations to give your space a macabre vibe. Throw on a spooky soundtrack, hang toy bats from the ceiling, fill the corners with fake cobwebs and screw in a few red light bulbs. Turn on a smoke machine for a truly creepy vibe.
Finally, if you're stumped for activities, everyone will secretly love participating in a thriller dance off - whether they admit it or not.
