Create a creepy cake and wow your guests

Want to spice up your treats this Halloween? Here are a few creative cake ideas to help you bake a creepy confection that your guests will love.
To create an eyeball cake, use an eyeball-shaped baking pan from a specialty store, or bake the cake in a round metal bowl. You could even use a flat, round cake pan and then use a sharp knife to curve the sides a little for a rounded effect.
When the cake has cooled, cover it in white frosting. After the first layer of frosting is set, put blue icing in a circle on the top of the cake for an iris, and a smaller black circle in the center of that for a pupil. Use red frosting on the sides to create a blood-shot effect.
Make sure to snap a picture for the photo albums before cutting into this cake.
For a more stylized cake, use fondant to create a smooth surface and interesting graphics. Drape black or orange fondant over a layer cake, and use Halloween shaped cookie cutters to create decorations like ghosts and witches in a different color.
If using black fondant, make a vanilla cake with orange or purple food coloring. If you chose orange fondant, make a dark chocolate cake for contrast.
