Down to the wire, hot Halloween trends
October 21, 2009
With this weekend marking the start of the Halloween festivities, the pressure is on to come up with a great costume. Here are a few ideas that are sure to be popular this season.
Take a few cues from the plans of other party goers - a national survey has revealed that most popular Halloween costumes for this year will include pop culture references. Expect the sidewalks to be filled with get-ups inspired by the Transformers 2 movie (the number one box office film of the year so far), president Obama's inauguration and Kanye West look-alikes (after his PR misstep at the MTV video awards). Experts also predict that there will be plenty of Thriller-era Michael Jackson's trolling the streets.
Still not inspired? How about a Balloon Boy costume? The hoax which has played out in the headlines this week could be a clever costume. If you can get your hands a silver helium balloon (there are already some shaped like weather balloons available in stores), carry it around on a string and wear a box (because you're hiding in the attic).
