Offer guests options with your wedding registry
November 12, 2009
Are you a little stumped about what gifts to ask for in your wedding registry? The registry is an important part of wedding planning, and is also a great opportunity to outfit your new home with some basic home goods.
Brides often stress about the price range and type of gifts to ask for, but you can take a cue from some of your favorite celebs and request a wide variety of gifts. Here are some of the items that the stars requested on their big day, according to US Weekly.
The news source reports that former Girls Next Door star Kendra Wilkensen, who married NFL player Hank Baskett in June, registered for practical appliances like a digital deep fryer, an air purifier and a towel warmer.
What did the girl who has everything ask for? Ivanka Trump, who married Jared Kushner in late October, registered for some slightly more extravagant gifts. US weekly says that the couple coveted a silver footed bowl that retailed for $1,350 and a $290 silver vegetable spoon.
Specialty items can be fun, too. Actress Zooey Deschanel and Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard can offer dinner guests homemade guacamole - the two registered for a Molcajete, the Mexican version of a mortar and pestle.
Think about items that you'll need for specific seasons. An electric blanket might be great for cold nights, and an ice tea pitcher could be perfect for summer barbecues.
Don't forget the thank-you notes!
