Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of The Simpsons
November 17, 2009 Dave Ullmann
Do you really need an excuse to watch The Simpsons? We didn't think so. But just in case you did, host a Simpsons viewing party in honor of the show's 20th anniversary. (The much-loved cartoon just surpassed Gunsmoke as the longest running American primetime entertainment series.)
On the next rainy Saturday, invite fellow fans over to your place for a marathon. Any Simpsons fan worth their salt (or Duff beer) has at least a few seasons on DVD - ask everyone to bring what they have and pick one or two favorite episodes to watch. At the end of the day, you could even vote on the best one. Just be careful, this debate has ruined friendships in the past!
Morgan Spurlock, who helmed both Super Size Me and 30 Days is slated to direct a documentary about the show, which will air on Thursday, January 14 on Fox. The special will be called The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special in 3-D on Ice. It remains to be seen if the special will actually feature either ice or 3-D effects, but we're sure that it will be hilarious either way.
