Wrap your Christmas gifts in style
December 01, 2009
You put a lot of thought into your gifts, so wrap them carefully. There are plenty of ways to be creative while gift wrapping. You can chose one paper or pattern that you love and wrap all of your gifts in that, or let the wrapping correspond to each unique item.
For example, if you picked up a toy or treat for a youngster in your family, bright playful colors and a large ribbon will get them excited about the gift before they even begin to tear into it. Consider slipping a few white glow sticks between the ribbon and the paper on Christmas Eve so that the presents shine from underneath the tree.
On the other hand, a carefully-chosen sweater for a good friend might be more appropriately wrapped in high-quality hand-painted paper.
When handing out party favors, keep it simple and inexpensive. We think that white tissue paper with silver ribbons is the perfect combination for small gifts like candles or chocolates.
If you decide to buy wrapping paper in bulk, layering different shades of the same color will create a sophisticated look. Cream wrapping paper paired with white tissue paper is clean and elegant. Red paper with maroon ribbons will look festive.
