Serve seasonal drinks at your holiday party
December 03, 2009
Specialty cocktails are an essential part of a festive holiday party, but chocolate or green apple-flavored drinks have become a little routine.
Think outside of the box to create a season cocktail that your guests will love. One decadent drink, a white chocolate peppermint martini, is sure to be a hit.
If you're serving up the drinks, make sure to keep all of the ingredients chilled so that you don't have to worry about ice.
Combine equal parts vanilla vodka, peppermint schnapps and white chocolate liqueur and shake well to combine. Serve in a martini glass rimmed with crushed candy canes or dark chocolate shavings. (Or even better, a mixture of both.)
Feel free to experiment with this recipe. You could substitute chocolate liqueur or chocolate flavored vodka in the drink, or garnish it with some coconut or mint leaves.
Just make sure to warn guests about this one! It's delicious but pretty strong, so it might be a good idea to encourage them to savor one or two instead of throwing back four or five - unless your party has a karaoke machine equipped with Christmas songs. In that case, keep them coming
