Music's biggest names show up for Vevo launch party
December 09, 2009
They may be rivals on the Billboard charts, but Taylor Swift and Rihanna looked pretty chummy at the launch party for Vevo, a new video website.
Vevo is backed by YouTube and describes itself as a music hub for casual listeners, music fanatics and those who are in the business.
Whether or not Vevo is the next big thing remains to be seen, but plenty of stars turned up to lend their support. (Or maybe just to see and be seen.)
Musicians Adam Lambert, Mariah Carey and John Mayer were all in attendance, Instyle.com reports.
According to the website, the shindig took place at Skylight Studio, a renovated space in New York City's SoHo neighborhood. Lady Gaga and Lambert performed at the party.
Pictures from the night reveal that, in typical Gaga style, the star wore a grey gown that resembled a toga, had her blonde hair shaped into a giant bow and performed at the piano with a drink in her hand.
It would be expected that with so many divas and superstars in one room, some drama might have ensued, but everyone seems to have a great night with no problems.
