Orlando Bloom and Gwyneth Paltrow turn out for La Mamounia's reopening
December 14, 2009
This weekend it was announced that Orlando Bloom proposed to his girlfriend Miranda Kerr while the couple was vacationing in Morocco over Thanksgiving. The two were visiting the exotic destination in honor of the reopening of La Mamounia, a luxurious and well known hotel in Marrakesh.
A slew of other celebrities joined the pretty pair for the shindig, including Adrien Brody, Salma Hayek, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston.
"I was last here 10 years ago, so I am happy to be back," Aniston told People.com.
Some celebs might have been bummed to miss out on Turkey Day in the states, but expat Paltrow wasn't one of them. "I mean, my mom is in Los Angeles, my brother is in New York and I am in London, but it's not a holiday there," she told the news source. "My kids don't get off from school, so I figured I would take off for a few days."
Both Paltrow and Hayek left the little ones at home and attended the gala without their children or significant others.
The party celebrated the hotel's return after three years of extensive renovations. The new interior boasts traditional materials like marble and tile along with woodcraft. The hotel also features a spa and fitness studios, according to Breakingtravelnews.com.
