The Los Angeles County High School for the Arts to host fundraiser
December 21, 2009
The L.A. Times reports that in response to the success of TV shows like "Glee," arts programs for high school students have begun to receive more attention and funding.
In order to garner some of that money for their own programs, the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts has decided to host a fundraiser in honor of its 25th anniversary. Of course, some very famous people have attended the program since it began, and it is expected that famous alums such as singer Josh Groban, actress Jenna Elfman and actor Corbin Bleu might attend the shindig, according to the news source.
"We are also using the evening to raise much-needed private support to help sustain the highly valued arts programs at LACHSA, " John Jackson, executive director of the Arts High Foundation, said in a statement.
In addition to appealing to its noteworthy alums, the high school will use the event to thank its long-term supporters such as Ginny Mancini, the widow of Oscar-winning composer Henry Mancini.
The event will be hosted at the Ahmanson Theatre in downtown L.A. on April 17.
