Jake Gyllenhaal attends holiday party after break-up with Witherspoon

Though Jake Gyllenhaal is reported to be heartbroken after his break-up with actress Reese Witherspoon, Eonline.com has reported that the 29-year-old actor isn't hiding himself away for the holidays.

The website reports that Gyllenhaal stopped by the Thompson Smyth Tribeca hotel in New York City in order to attend a holiday party hosted by God's Love We Deliver, a non-profit organization that provides ill children and adults with meals and nutritional counseling.

Other celebrities in attendance included Mary-Louise Parker, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Will Arnett and Josh Hartnett, according to the news source.

It seems that despite the break-up, Gyllenhaal was still able to enjoy the fete. "He seemed in good spirits," a source told the website. "He and Matt Dillon chatted for a good portion of the night and were laughing at each other's stories."

While Gyllenhaal was out and about post-breakup, Whitherspoon has been spotted in L.A. and New York, doing some Christmas shopping (or perhaps just engaging in a little retail therapy).
