Christina Aguilera and Nicole Richie hosted New Year's Eve parties in Sin City

Because New Year's Eve is traditionally one of the glitziest holidays of the year, it makes sense that the stars would naturally flock to Las Vegas. There were many pre-planned events and celebrity-hosted parties to be had on the Sunset Strip, and two especially glamorous divas, Christina Aguilera and Nicole Richie, made an appearance in Sin City.

Aguilera sported a platinum blond bob and a black dress while on the red carpet, and Richie wore a gold-sequined ensemble that contrasted nicely with her new, darker locks.

After the photo ops, Aguilera headed over to the Vegas Tao, where she performed hosting duties for the night. Before midnight, the singer told People.com that her plans for the new year included "To continue having the best life ever."

Meanwhile, after her appearance at Tao, Richie hosted her own event at Lavo, and her boyfriend Joel Madden performed a special DJ set.

Tickets for the Lavo event cost revelers about $150, and the party at Tao set partiers back about $270, according to VegasChatter.com.
