Have an amazing graduation party with a television show theme
May 26, 2010
Graduation can be a wonderful event, so you're going to want to make it great for that special someone. If you've been searching for an amazing present for the one you love, why not skip the mall and start planning the ultimate graduation bash? The memories that will be created are bound to outlast an expensive pen or a set of new books.
For starters, graduation party ideas can run from simple party additions to something wild. But, if you're stumped at the moment, why not choose from a variety of party themes? Using a theme will help steer your party in a particular direction and make shopping for goods easy. However, it will also bring the shindig to a place where people get excited to celebrate, from the moment they receive their invitation to when they're leaving with a goody bag in their hands.
One of the biggest fads of the moment is to gear your bash towards a film or television series. And, as luck would have it, TV shows where characters gather together in classrooms have been popular for years now. If your guest of honor is someone who spends their evenings in front glued to the small screen (in between writing papers and studying, of course), this idea is bound to be a hit.
For starters, plan out a bunch of festive graduation invitations. When choosing these, why not find some that feature images of the popular, campy series Saved by the Bell? Photos of Zack Morris and Kelly Kapowski should be used on the front and back of the invite. And don't forget about Screech!
Next, purchase some graduation decorations. Find a bunch of banners and streamers that have the characters from the age-old 80s show Head of the Class on them. If you can print out huge images of each of the beloved students, try using them as centerpieces.
If your guest of honor is more into dramas, decorate the event space with palm trees and use the characters from Beverly Hills, 90210 for inspiration. Images of Brandon and Brenda Walsh will make excellent centerpieces, and their photos will look great on banners and streamers around the venue. Also, don't forget about Dylan McKay and Kelly Taylor. Fans of the show were crazy about these guys, so use their photos generously.
Remember, most grads have worked their butts off to earn their diploma, so it's important you show them you care about everything they've done. Throwing a party is a great way to say congratulations and to gather their closest friends and family together for a celebration. After all the hard work they put in, they're going to appreciate the time you spent planning their affair.
