Celebrate America with an unbelievable Fourth of July party
June 18, 2010
Is it mid-June already? Although this fantastic weather has been putting a smile on everyone's face, it seems as though the days have breezed by. Before we know it, we'll officially be at the height of the summer.
This, of course, means one important thing - the Fourth of July is right around the corner. People are counting down the days until they can relax, catch up with old friends and watch the fireworks with someone special. Truth be told, America's birthday is one of the most fun holidays to celebrate.
If you don't have any plans to attend a July 4th bash, why not throw one yourself? All too often people wait for invites to come in the mail, only to realize that the usual party planners are on vacation or decided to skip throwing a shindig this year. Instead of pouting and running through your rolodex to find a place to go to, you can start coordinating your own an incredible soiree for your close friends and family.
Of course, all great parties start with amazing invitations. And, for the 4th, these should pay special tribute to America and her signature colors - red, white and blue.
Try to find invites that are decked out in these three spectacular hues. Ones that have the American flag on them and slogans such as "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave" would be great. If you can uncover invites adorned with the photos of important American figures, such as Barack Obama or JFK Jr, try to grab those. Your guests are bound to get a giggle out of them when they see them pop up in their mailbox.
Next, start your search for incredible July 4th decorations. These should be crazy and fun. After all, you're likely to be sitting outside with a drink in your hand, and your guests are going to want some colorful décor to add to the scenery.
For starters, try to find a life-sized poster of an important American figure. A six-foot poster of Janet Reno or Condoleeza Rice is bound to leave party goers in a great mood. If you're looking to cause a commotion, try purchasing one of Monica Lewinsky.
However, don't forget about balloons. These, of course, should be in America's standard colors, but feel free to find ones in every shape and size.
Party extras such as string lights and fun top hats will certainly be something everyone can enjoy. Also, make sure you stock up on whistles and noisemakers for people to use throughout the evening.
All parties are a blast, but there's something special about the Fourth. It's when everyone can put aside their differences and enjoy one another's company in the greatest country in the world. Take the time to coordinate an amazing party and you'll be thankful you did.
