Start the ignition on a race car themed birthday
August 02, 2010
What little boy is not enthralled by cars? Many kids just can't get enough of the powerful automobiles they see whizzing by on the highway and relish the day when they will be able to sit behind the wheel and cruise the open road. If your little one simply loves the allure of driving, why not throw him a race car-themed birthday party? Although they are not old enough to drive, it will be sure to give them a day they'll remember for years to come.
To start, you'll need to send out fantastic invitations that incorporate lots of automotive imagery. One direction you can take is to send out announcements that have pictures of a race track on them. Include some appropriate lingo, such as "Gentlemen, start your engines!" and watch your son smile.
Of course, you'll need terrific decorations to really bring home the victory. NASCAR races are frequently all-day extravaganzas and many people go all out when it comes to celebrating, so you should not hold back. One of the most iconic aspects of a race is the checkered flag - because of this, you'll want to incorporate the classic design anywhere you can. A great place to start would be to hang a checkered pennant banner around the house or over a doorway. Along the same lines, laying a checked plastic table cover over a bunch of tables is a wonderful way to utilize the pattern. You can also make your guests feel like they've stepped onto the the track at Dayton with a race track border roll. This can be a great way to set the scene and make all the racing fans feel right at home.
While decorations can certainly create an excellent atmosphere, there are a number of party supplies you'll definitely need as well. Paper plates, napkins and cups are all a must, so purchase some which feature a pair of cars racing toward the finish line. Whether the guest of honor is a Greg Biffle fan or a Jeff Gordon lover, they'll be sure to appreciate their favorite driver on plates or napkins. Pinatas are also a great addition to any birthday bash, purchase one for your shindig? Fill a pinata shaped like a car with delicious candy and let your guests have at it with a stick - they'll be sure to have a ball.
As a thank you to all the friends and family members that came, you should give them something to take home with them. Along with candy and other goodies, include some themed gifts as well. Race car stickers or racing cutouts will do the trick.
Almost everyone can appreciate the awe of a car going nearly 200 miles per hour, but children are especially captivated by the wonder that driving brings with it. Make sure you celebrate this enthusiasm and curiosity before it is lost forever.
