Patriotic Holiday Party Ideas!
March 30, 2011
No matter what time of year it is, you can always find a reason to be patriotic. It doesn’t have to be the 4th of July for you to show how much you love your country. It does help in terms of finding more readily available patriotic supplies, but we have them available for you all year round! So no matter if it is an official holiday or a celebration welcoming home a serviceman or woman, you should be as patriotic as you want to be when you want to be!
If you want to have a celebration to share your patriotic feelings with your fellow Americans, then you’ll want to get the word out with some eye-catching invites. We have no less than . . . 25 different patriotic themed invitations for you to choose from! Choose from any number of variations on the stars and stripes, red-white-and-blue patterns, fireworks and much more!
And for those special Homecomings for our men and women deployed overseas, we have a camouflage personalized invitation.
You can even send invites out along party lines if you want: Democrat & Republican.
Don’t forget to put a heaping helping of patriotic confetti into the envelopes along with your invitations. Seeing the colors of our country with a metallic sparkle will stir up anyone’s national pride.
If you normally have the American flag hoisted in front of your house every day, you’ve got step one done. But for the times you want to really let freedom ring, you are going to need to give our flag some big support. If you have any areas outside your house which would be good for bunting or pennant banners, you owe it to yourself to stick some up. Front porch railings, eves, and awnings are good places to start. Your rain gutters can work too.
Wherever you don’t put up banners or bunting, try different types of patriotic garland. Barring a rain storm, your yard should be covered in red, white, and blue. You can finish off your outdoor space with an American flag windsock, American flag bow, American summer fans, and some patriotic lanterns to offer light for your fellow Americans.
As your guests head in to your all American home, let them be greeted by an American flag door cover. For archways and empty doorways, try setting up a red, white, and blue door curtain.
Since you are proud to be an American, keep that chin up and offer your eyes a treat as you look to the decorations hanging from your ceiling. You can decorate with star stringers, stars and stripes, and patriotic swirls.
Whether you love him or hate him, you should always hail to the chief. Put up a President Obama life-size stand up to give your space an authoritative feeling. Add the first lady stand up as well to really feel the power of the executive office! You can also set up an American flag scene setter behind the President for that ‘official’ feeling.
A patriotic banner with your own custom message on it is the best way to support a candidate, celebrate the birth of the nation, or welcome someone home! Choose from a variety of sizes to make your message loud and proud or simple but strong.
If you want to streamline your decorating and prefer not to hunt through items, our patriotic ultimate decorating kit is what you want. It is perfect for covering your space in the glorious colors of this great country. Use multiple kits to make your guests see stars and stripes forever!
Depending on what time of year it is when your patriotic fever strikes, you should fire up the grill if you can. Nothing says America like hot dogs and hamburgers. We love our summer time picnic foods. Use a popular twist on burgers to cook up some sliders! Be even more creative by making them Chicken Salad Sliders.
But if you want a no fuss food prep for your party, just go out and pick up tubs of pre-made potato salad and coleslaw, as well as some baked beans along with some frozen burgers and dogs. It doesn’t get much easier than all that.
People joke about things being as American as apple pie, but when it comes to comfort food in the USA; you can’t really go wrong with a great dessert.
When your guests arrive to load up on some all American fare, be sure the table top doesn’t disappoint. An American plastic table cover can make a patriot out of any surface. Try a stars and stripes table runner for coffee and end tables as well as countertops.
A good tip to remember is that a centerpiece does not always have to go where its name suggests. While a single centerpiece can look wonderful on a table spread, sometimes placing two centerpieces on either end of a long table can help to frame a wonderful set up. Try being creative with your use of these fantastic items: patriotic flag centerpiece, American spirit centerpiece, and American flag centerpiece.
Try sprinkling some patriotic confetti stars about on your table tops to turn otherwise bland empty space into a beautiful display!
Be sure to provide plenty of Americana paper plates, napkins and cups (we have several varieties of each). Pile up your food for your guests on patriotic serving trays or American flag serving trays. And don’t forget to add some little touches to your food as well. Patriotic umbrella picks are a cute and simple way to put a dash of USA on sandwiches.
To celebrate your freedom to have the drink of your choice, set out some inflatable USA coolers to keep a refreshing beverage within arms-reach of your guests. The great column shape is covered with the stars and stripes which lets this cooler double as a decoration too!
There seems to be a general rule of thumb that you can never have too many miniature American flags, so make sure you stock up! You can also show your respect to the different branches of the armed forces with miniature Army, Navy, and Marine flags.
If your patriotic gathering is more of a crazy USA themed party, then you’ll want some red, white and blue LED diva dreads. Throw on a fiber optic necklace, light up Uncle Sam hat, blue LED slotted glasses and a patriotic tuxedo vest to really show your patriotic colors!
There are so many more items to talk about and we just can’t fit them all here. But check out our Patriotic Party Supplies section for all your red, white, and blue needs.
