Throw a Kid-Friendly Valentine's Party!

Valentine’s Day Kids
Who says you have to be a grown-up to celebrate Valentine’s Day? Valentine’s Day doesn’t always have to be mushy and romantic. For a fresh take on Valentine’s Day, throw a children’s party for your kids and their friends.
Get the kids excited by sending out colorful, personalized invitations decked out with hearts and Disney characters. With the loveable Mickey and Minnie on your invitations, who could resist attending your party? Or go for the classic red and pink Valentine’s Day theme by sending out Hip Hearts Invitations. For a childlike touch, head to your local Walgreens and pick up some cartoon Valentine’s. Have your child fill one out for each guest and include it with the invitation. This will make each guest feel personally invited!
Decorations and Party Supplies
The kids will be in awe as the outside of your house sparkles with metallic Happy Valentine’s Day balloons and red and white Lumi-Loon balloons. Add even more light by lining your walkway with Valentine’s Day Luminarie Bags. For the safety of the children, make sure to fill the bags with our Flameless Tea Light Candles instead of real candles. No one will even be able to tell the difference!
Before the big event, get your kids involved in the decorating; it is their party after all! Have them place Valentine’s Day Glitter Hearts and Hearts Confetti all around the house. If you’re nervous about what they might do with a handful of confetti, limit their boundaries to table and counter tops. Not only does this save you time, but the haphazardness of their decorating will look better than if you spent hours on the décor.
Line your front door with a Metallic Fringed Door Curtain. Your little guests will feel special as they walk through the fringe and into your glamorous party. Add a few finishing touches with Metallic Star Danglers, Valentine Hearts Swirl Garland and Red Shimmering Columns. If you’re looking for a quick fix, go with the Red Metallic Decorating Kit. Filled with foil swirls, stars and fringe garland, you can’t go wrong with this 22 piece set!
Food and Dining Décor
For food and a little activity, have the kids create their own heart-shaped pizzas. Use a large cookie cutter to cut pre-made pizza dough into hearts and spread sauce on top. Line your table with a Valentine’s table cover. You may even want to place a festive table cover underneath your table since this project could get a little messy. Have plasticware and paper cups filled with Red Heart Straws at each place setting.
Put the partially made pizzas on plates and set one in front of each child. Fill medium sized bowls with toppings like cheese, pepperoni, sausage and tomatoes. Place the bowls on the table so the kids can personalize their own pizzas. Make sure to have plenty of napkins!
The key to an amazing kid’s party is to send each child home with a loot bag! Fill each bag with Valentine’s inspired goodies like Wax Lips, Valentine’s Stickers, Heart Bracelets and Plush Teddy Bears. The hardest part of the party will be figuring out how you’re going to top it next year!
