Safari & Jungle Theme Party
If you’ve never had the good fortune to find yourself abroad on Safari but would love to go, we’ve got the way to bring the wild to you! A Safari themed party is easier to throw together than you think and can have a broad appeal! So grab a net and a camera, we’re going on Safari!
Safari & Jungle Theme Party Invitations
Share your love of the wild with your friends by giving them a fun invitation to your gathering. Safari Fun can be a great invite for kids and the Safari Postcard is excellent for adults. But with over 20 invites to choose from, you may have to go on a hunt just to find the right one!
Drop in a little Wild Animal for your guests. Everyone likes getting free things, and a little wild animal should help put them in the Safari mood.
Safari & Jungle Theme Party Decorations
To make your guests feel like they are stepping out of the urban jungle and into a real one, you’ll want to cover your indoor space thoroughly. If you have a backyard, and if the weather is cooperating, Mother Nature will give you a hand in creating your Safari locale.
Give your guests Safari pith helmets to help them fit right in with your setting. You can also offer them binoculars in case they spot any wild animals moving about your place.
Indoors, make use of scene setters. A 40’ Bamboo scene setter can help transform walls into something more exotic. Some palm tree scene setter add-ons will round out the safari feel of the rooms.
Either inside or outside try stringing up some Hibiscus Leaf Garland. Dotted with multi-colored flowers, and dried grass, it adds a jungle effect which will help your party live up to its theme.
The same goes for these carved coconut papa and mama figures. They have a sort of ‘jungle tribe’ feeling to them.
Doorways should sport the palm leaf curtain. This will help your guests never miss the feel of your party theme even when they have to interact with the modern world.
Don’t leave your Safari guests in the dark. Be sure to set out plenty of flameless candles for them to find their way. Turning off the lights will help to set the mood at your party and will help all your decorations work in concert better.
You can also use lanterns to give an outdoors-feeling.
For a finishing touch, place some plastic insects all over the place! You may not like them when they are real, but since you are on safari, you should accept these creepy crawlers as your guests. And don’t be surprised when you hear a scream when someone finds them!
Safari & Jungle Theme Party Food
Out in the wild, people will eat just about anything to survive. At your party, try and give your guests better survival chances by providing plenty of eats.
This is a great chance to be creative by making or presenting food with strong animal themes. Celery, peanut butter, and raisins or, ‘ants on a log’, was great as a kid and still satisfies as a tasty treat.
Make jell-o with gummy worms on the inside! You can be really daring and actually buy chocolate covered insects if you want. Visit some specialty food stores and you’ll be surprised what you can find!
Otherwise, try and offer a variety of everyone’s favorite finger foods: chips, veggies, dips, and the like. People on Safari’s are often cooking over an open flame so this could be a great excuse to BBQ! Round up the usual suspects with hot dogs and burgers, or keep your wild theme alive with alligator and snake meat!
Serve everything up on safari chic plates, with matching cups and napkins and table cover. Animal print and Jungle Safari paper goods available too!
An island palm 20” platter makes an excellent serving dish. Use it with the island palm sectional serving dish for a complete effect.
Safari & Jungle Theme Party Accessories
If guests aren’t willing to wear the safari pith helmets you offer them, tell them their other choice is either a red parrot or a green one.
Remember slap bracelets? Of course you do! They are back and safe for your wrists! Check out these animal prints!
Some rubber rain forest snakes will give an added wild feel to your party and may even startle some people.
This plush monkey can be hung up or made to ride on your back; show everyone you are friends with the animals!
