Scream 4
April 13, 2011
In an almost silent and stalking fashion, reminiscent of the killers in the series, Scream 4 has crept up on the public and will be released in just 2 short days.
With an all-star cast, including a return by main character Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), and test audiences buzzing over the film, it's shaping up to be the first big hit movie Hollywood has yet to see this year.
If you can't fully recall Screams 1-3, don't worry, most people can't. Certainly the first installment is the one people are most familiar with. Scream 2 was a passable sequel and Scream 3 is generally considered as derailing the franchise.
But with all that set to change, the big questions are: Will it deliver? and Will audiences go to see it?
Traditionally, most scary movies aim to be released at or near Halloween. This film is dropping the weekend before Easter and just a few weeks before Mother's Day. It's not exactly a family film so the timing could be a little questionable.
But, for true lovers of all things fright, a good scare in the Spring can be just what the doctor ordered. Especially since Halloween is still 201 days away . . .
