Royal Wedding Coverage
April 29, 2011
Royal Wedding Coverage is everywhere. Sadly, you won't find much of it here. This article is more about the coverage itself, rather than the wedding.
Sorry!
Even though many polls seemed to indicate that Americans did not care much about the nuptuals of Prince William and Kate Middleton (now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge), every major news outlet, both local and national, is covering the even with multiple lead stories.
Currently, the only three search terms not relating to the Royal Wedding in some way on Google's Top 20 Trends list are: NASA TV, Shuttle Launch, and The Pittsburgh Steelers.
Earlier, every single item on the list related in some way.
So were we all just kidding ourselves? Did we deep down actually care about the marriage of a prince from a country which ours revolted against over 200 years ago?
Or was it just that curiousity has gotten the better of us. It is not every day that royalty weds. Did we all just want to take a peek to confirm for ourselves that we weren't missing anything?
Whatever the reason, the big day is finally here and the proof is in the pudding. And in the scones with jam.
The Royal Wedding will likely dominate the news for not just today, but the rest of the weekend as well. So resist it if you can or take that peek and indulge yourself. It's not a bad thing to like it, just be honest with yourself.
