If you are visiting Chicago, get ready to eat at some of the most interesting restaurants. Here is a list of 3 of the most interesting restaurants that tourist should definitely check out.
1) The Wiener's Circle - If you into Chicago hot dogs and cursing, this is the place for you. Located in Lincoln Park this small hot dog joint is open late selling Chicago-style hot dogs and amazing cheesy fries. What sets this restaurant apart from other places is the 'customer service'. Cooks and cashiers curse and rudely yell at you, which gives the restaurant its charm. Have fun cursing back and cracking jokes with the staff on a late night. This place is definitely not a family restaurant.
2) Joy Yee Plus Shabu Shabu - Located in Chinatown, this restaurant makes you feel as if you have taken a direct flight to Hong Kong. JYPSS is known for its shabu shabu (hot pot) and delicious frozen yogurt and shaved ice, which comes in large portions. The modern decor is what makes this restaurant special. When you walk into the restaurant, you notice a small river of koi fish swimming under your feet. Live koi fish. The walls are decorated in shine, bronze tiles and is covered with a few small TVs streaming the latest dramas from Asia. It is perfect for the Chinese food lover.
3) Gino's East - For those of you staying in the downtown area and want to show off your artistic skills, you should stop by Gino's East. This restaurant serves up Chicago-style deep dish pizza. The interior of this restaurant makes this place an artist's haven. Take a marker or swiss army knife and draw/carve pictures or messages on to the wood interior walls. It definitely gives you something to do as you wait for your pizza.
If you stop at these restaurants, you will enjoy delicious food as well as enjoy the atmosphere of the space. I highly recommend that you stop by.
