3 Spooky Halloween Games for Kids

Halloween isn't always about trick or treating, as long as you are having fun! So if you are hosting a Halloween party for kids this year, you better have some good ideas on how to keep them entertained.

We've got some spooky and scary ideas which are just right for the little ones. Remember, it's only fun if you're scared!

3 Spooky Halloween Games for Kids

1. The Witch's Body Parts

Everyone should remember this classic. Dim the lights and ask the children to close their eyes. Then tell the story of the horrible old witch who once lived in that same house. With the mood set, all you need to do now is pass around food items and declare them to be the old lady's remains. Peeled grapes always work well as eyes. Cooked spaghetti makes for great hair. You can use jell-o for brains and dried corn husks as skin. You can feel free to think of more nasty fun body parts with other food you have. Get Creative!

Tip: You can also put these items inside various covered containers so the kids can just reach in and feel around whenever they want.

2. Monster Mash Musical Chairs

The best games are often the ones we know and love. Don't worry about being super creative, just keep your little party goers happy. Grab all the chairs you can and set them up in a circle. Then, all you need to do is turn on that iconic song. Play the Monster Mash and stop it periodically until you're left with just one winner. This is a game that can be repeated all party long. Whoever wins can also recieve a small prize like a carmel apple!

Tip: For any game where there is a 'winner' you should always try to make sure that everyone else gets something too. Offer fun Halloween pencils to participants.

3. Candy Jar Guessing

Kids will have candy on the brain all night at your Halloween party, so put that thought power to good use. You can fill various sized jars with different pieces of candy (candy corn works well) and then have the children guess how many pieces are in each jar. The best part of this game, is that you don't have to let the candy jar itself be the prize. You can offer children other fun Halloween themed items in as a reward for whoever is closest. Just make sure the kids know that ahead of time!

Tip: Don't write the candy count on the bottom of your containers. Kids may pick them up to examine them to make their guesses and it can be easy to spot the number on the bottom.
