5 Tips to Stay Awake on New Year's Eve

Is your normal bedtime usually before 10:00 pm hits? That means that you are going to have quite a hard time staying awake this New Year's Eve!
Maybe you feel it is unnecessary to stay up throughout the night because you have seen enough New Year's Eves in your lifetime. But what if you have kids or a party to go to?
The main goal for a child is to stay awake until midnight! If you are already in bed well before that, your kids will miss out on the exciting fireworks and noisemakers that come with this holiday!
Don't crush your kid's dreams or miss out on an enjoyable party, and use these 5 tips to stay awake on New Year's Eve!
1) Sleep during the day.
If this is possible, take a nap during the day! Even if you just get about 30 minutes of shut eye, you should be good to go!
If you are going to be working all day and feel that you won't have any time to sleep in between work and your party, you might have to sacrifice part of your lunch with a quick nap!
2) Get some fresh air.
If you are already at your party and feeling a bit sleepy, step outside for a minute for some fresh air!
The air, especially in Chicago, will be cold and brisk, which will keep you awake! Who wants to fall asleep in freezing weather?
Whether you like to dance or not, showing off your sweet moves will pass the time quicker, while keeping you awake!
This can even be an opportunity to make new friends and be sociable! What better way to start the New Year than with some new friends?
4) Drink cold beverages.
Picture yourself drinking a nice and warm cup of hot chocolate. Just picturing that should make you want to fall asleep!
No hot drinks on this night! Whether you are drinking a cold beer, an energy drink, or a glass of water, keep it cold!
5) Do NOT lie down anywhere.
You are asking yourself to feel sleepy if you lay down somewhere! It would probably be safest to stand the whole night. The more uncomfortable you are, the more awake you will be!
Be careful even when just sitting down. Unless you are involved in an intense conversation or sitting on a rock hard chair, you are extremely likely to doze off.
