Let Your Imagination Fly When Planning Your Child's Next Birthday Party with an Angry Birds Themed Birthday Party!
July 25, 2012
With the Angry Birds sensation sweeping the nation, kids of all ages are clamoring for an Angry Birds birthday party! Until recently, Angry Birds party supplies were hard to come by, so it took a lot of creativity, a little elbow grease, and a big imagination to pull off a fun-filled Angry Birds party. Here are some great ideas to ensure your Angry Birds party is a huge success.
Spread the word about your Angry Birds party with personalized Angry Birds invitations for your guests. They’ll be thrilled to receive these colorful invites that you can customize with all your party details! And on the day of the party, let everyone know the bird is the word at your house with an Angry Birds custom banner that announces exactly where the party is and what you’re celebrating! Once you’ve sent out the invites, you can move on to the fun party-planning all your activities and picking out the awesome party supplies!
Lucky for you, Windy City Novelties finally has the Angry Birds party supplies everyone has been waiting for! You won’t have to settle for boring old solid colored paper goods and party supplies in the Angry Birds colors, now you can choose 9” plates featuring the red Angry Bird or 7” plates with the green Angry Bird to serve up all your party foods. Drape your table with the adorable green and white Angry Birds table cover and set a red Angry Bird cup at each place, along with one of the bright yellow Angry Bird lunch napkins. With all these bright Angry Bird accessories you’ll have a colorful table awaiting your guests when the party starts!
- Have some fun planning your party treats for your Angry Birds party! Make mini pizzas and use pepperoni, olives, cheese, mushrooms, onions, green and yellow peppers, and any other toppings you would like to create mini pizzas that look like the characters from Angry Birds. A well placed olive over a pepperoni covered pizza crust can make any pizza look like that crazy red bird! To add a little fun to the party, turn it into a game and have a contest to see which guest can create the best Angry Bird pizza.
- Use colored fondant and add food coloring to cake mix to create Angry Bird themed cupcakes. Sprinkles and small candy pieces can be used to add the finishing touches to your cupcakes.
- Fruits like kiwi, watermelon, pineapple, and grapes can easily be turned into Angry Birds and those menacing pigs. Uses toothpicks to hold the pieces together.
- Create custom Angry Bird cookies with simple circle and triangle cookie cutters and some royal icing with food coloring. A toothpick is the perfect way to add those final decorations!
You’ll need some games to play at your Angry Birds party, and since I’m guessing you don’t want all the guests huddled around your phone or tablet, how about building an almost-life-sized version of an Angry Birds board? With a little ingenuity and a few craft supplies you can bring your child’s favorite digital game from the little screen to the backyard! First, collect enough cardboard boxes to build your board. Shoe boxes would be the perfect size, but bigger boxes are okay as well. Spray paint them all the same color for uniformity, or go with crazy colors if that makes you happy! Next, fill up some water balloons, green ones of course, to represent those sneaky pigs. Next, you’ll need to fashion some sort of sling shot. The easiest way to create a slingshot is to use a pair of pantyhose and have 2 people hold each foot while someone pulls back on the middle, with a “bird” securely nestled in the middle. Pull it taut and then let it fly, trying to knock over as many boxes and pop as many balloons as possible. For the birds, you can use more water balloons, softballs, golf balls, or whatever else you can come up with. Of course, you’ll need to paint them the appropriate colors! Your guests will love being able to take a shot at knocking over all the boxes and popping those pigs!
So let your imagination fly when you’re planning your Angry Birds party and have a blast making these ideas work for you and your guests!
