Throw a "Go Diego Go" Themed Birthday Party for Your Child with the Help of Windy City Novelties!
August 10, 2012
“Go Diego Go” is one of the most popular shows on Nick, Jr. and your little explorer will be thrilled when you plan a Diego-themed party for their next birthday! With the help of Windy City Novelties you can take your favorite explorers on a safari adventure just like Diego that ends with plenty of birthday cake and ice cream!
Let your guests know it’s time to get ready for their safari adventure with Go Diego Go invitations which will provide all the information the explorers need to start their rescue adventure with Diego! Get ready for your Diego party by transforming your party space into a tropical rainforest. Use jungle tree scene setters to turn your walls into a tropical jungle, complete with monkeys hanging from vines! Add some jungle animal props to the decor and the kids will think they really are joining Diego on his next rescue mission!
When the kids arrive, it will be time to gather them together and make them a part of Diego’s crew. Have them make cargo vests like Diego wears out of brown paper bags by cutting up the front of the bag and cutting out armholes. Use crayons and Diego stickers to let the kids personalize their vests. Once they are ready for adventure, it’s time to hand out the rescue mission cards and let them know that an animal needs their help! Before the party starts, set up three or four simple challenges, like animal hopscotch, an animal jigsaw puzzle, and a simple scavenger hunt, that leads them to safari-themed prizes. Of course, your adventurers will need their own rescue packs to help them along the way, so prepare loot bags with goodies they might need along the way, like a magnetic compass, safari helmets, jungle note pads, and safari folding fans. With all these accessories, their rescue mission is sure to be a success!
Once the kids have finished their mission, they’re sure to be hungry, so you’ll want to have plenty of treats ready to go! Set the table for your Go Diego, Go party with a grass table skirt and top it with plenty of Go Diego Go plates, cups, and coordinating orange plasticware. If you want to serve something besides the traditional cake and ice cream at your Diego party, consider serving fruit skewers with fresh pineapple, kiwi, strawberries, and bananas, tortilla rollups, pudding cups decorated with gummi worms and crushed cookies, or a taco bar where the kids can choose their own toppings.
In addition to the animal rescue mission, there are plenty of fun, animal-themed activities you can plan for your Diego party.
- Play pin-the-tail-on-the-jaguar for a fun spin on the traditional favorite.
- Let the kids act out their favorite Diego episode with animal masks.
- Let them take a whack at a toucan piñata.
Involve your child in the planning for your Diego party and use it as an opportunity to teach them about different types of animals and the importance of protecting the rainforests. As they learn more about the animals Diego works so hard to protect, they’ll love the show even more and love you for putting so much work into their party! And once you’ve planned your animal adventure and thrown your favorite explorer an awesome Diego birthday party, your biggest challenge may be finding a way to top your Diego party next year!
