Halloween Season is a Perfect Time to Get a Group of You and Your Friends Together for a 'Ghoul's' Night Out!
September 25, 2012
Give your girlfriends a break from the hustle and bustle of fall with back to school madness, work worries, and the craziness of the upcoming holidays by planning a fun "Ghoul's" Night Out that offers some grown up Halloween tricks and treats! The mummies will jump at the chance to escape for the evening and you'll have fun planning some glammed up fun with a Halloween twist.
Set the scene for your spooky soiree and put a girly spin on the traditional Halloween theme of black and orange by decorating with black and bright pink. Not only will it delight your guests but it will make them feel special that you've put a little extra thought into the night's decor. Get the table ready for your Ghoul's Night Out by draping it with a black tablecloth and a silver table runner. For your centerpieces, which will set the tone for the evening, spray paint some smaller pumpkins bright pink and black to fit with your color scheme. Place them along the length of the table runner and scatter some skull and crossbones confetti in between. Create beautiful place settings using black chargers with bright pink plates on top. The chargers will give you place settings an elegant touch the guests will appreciate! Tie coordinating pink napkins around each silverware setting with homemade napkin rings made out of festive Halloween cardstock from the craft store. Add some extra illumination to your Ghoul's Night Out table decorations with pink glowing martini glasses that all the ghoul's will love! Not only will these be an awesome accent to the table but they'll make great party favors as well. Spray paint some black spider rings silver or pink to match the rest of the table decorations and use them as wine glass decorations as well. Even better, you can use a black marker to have the girls add their initial to the spider's back so no one misplaces their glass as the night goes on!
Give your Ghoul's Night Out a devilishly delicious menu that the mummies will appreciate. Here's a few simple but delightful ideas you can try out!
- Pick a signature cocktail to serve as your Witches Brew--Cosmopolitans, Bloody Marys, or even a simple red wine are perfect choices.
- Spaghetti might seem like a predictable choice for Halloween but it's also simple to prepare and a surefire crowd pleaser! For a more refined alternative, go with lasagna.
- Finger foods like mini quiches, crab cakes, tarts, fresh veggies, chicken roll ups, bruschetta, shrimp skewers, and finger-friendly foods. With this option, you can easily switch your dinner to buffet style instead of sit-down with a few quick adjustments to your table set up.
- Go with desserts only and feed the sweet tooth in everyone! Chocolate fountains, witches' hat cupcakes, pumpkin bars, monster cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, and other tasty delights.
Since your Ghoul's Night Out is a Halloween event, it's up to you if you want to require costumes, and while it might be fun to dress up in your favorite witch costume for the night, if you're not in the mood for a costume party, you could just require all the ladies wear their best witch hat for the evening! Whether they want to browse the costume shop selection or decorate their own with supplies from the local craft store, be sure you have prizes ready for the most creative hats.
All your friends will jump at the chance to attend your Ghoul's Night Out and beg you to turn it into an annual event! So stock up on all the pretty pink and black decorations you can find to set a spooky scene that will have your ghoul-friends screaming in delight and enjoy a night where the only tricks and treats you have to worry about are the adult themed kind that you cook up with your friends!
