Kick Off the NFL Season with a Game Day Watch Party
September 04, 2013
Don’t worry football fans, football season has finally arrived! The NFL season starts tomorrow and the biggest football fans are still excited about seeing the potential of their team this year, as well as the competition. To celebrate one of America’s favorite sports, throw a little get-together during one of the regular season games. Here are some helpful tips on what you should have for your NFL Game Day Party!
The main focus of your get-together will be watching the game on TV; therefore, it is not entirely necessary to cover the party area in decorations. Instead, simply hang a “game day” pennant banner to let guests know where the party space is, or drape football garland on the walls. However, if you do wish to go all out for your football party, Windy City Novelties has a football party decoration kit that consists of all the decorations needed to throw a football themed celebration!

You can also add a few decorations with your team’s logo and colors on it to show some support. Windy City Novelties’ NFL Team Party Supplies section has decorations available for every team in the NFL, including paper goods.
Game Day Snacks and Supplies
Besides watching the game, the second most important activity at your party will be consuming delicious snacks and drinks, so be prepared to whip up some game-day classics! Because eating and drinking are such an essential part of your party, the snack table should be decorated. Place a football-themed table cover over it and set out football paper plates and napkins that guests can help themselves to.

The type of snacks you serve should be easy-to-eat finger foods, such as mini sandwiches and burgers. Serve these on a football tray that is easy to carry around to guests so they don’t have to get up from their seats. Then place it on the decorated snack table so guests can also help themselves if they need to.

There are a variety of other football-favorite snacks you can serve, as well, such as Buffalo wings, potato skins, etc. Don’t forget the sweets! Bake some cookies or brownies in little football shapes, for a fun and sweet snack.
You’ll also need to serve up some drinks! Put out an inflatable field goal cooler with a selection of beers, sodas and water so guests can help themselves to whatever they want to drink.

Game Day Activities
Usually football parties don’t need activities to entertain guests, but if kids are coming, you might want to keep them interested with some fun, outdoor football games! Have them play outside with a football toss game, or keep them busy with an inflatable football goal and ball.
