Throw a NASCAR Themed Party in Honor of the Upcoming Season
February 05, 2014
With NASCAR season about to begin, it is the ideal time to throw a NASCAR themed event! The season kicks off with the Sprint Unlimited on Saturday, February 15th, and makes its way to one of the franchise’s biggest events on Sunday, February 23rd—the Daytona 500. Add a racing theme to an upcoming celebration, or throw an unforgettable NASCAR themed birthday party for your little racing fan! Or, if you are a huge fan of NASCAR yourself, invite friends over for a fun-filled day of snacking and race-watching. Whatever the occasion may be, throwing a NASCAR themed party is simple with the help of our NASCAR and racing theme decorations and party supplies. Here are some ideas on putting together a NASCAR event!
Use special racing theme invitations to invite friends and family to your child’s NASCAR birthday party or racing themed event. Customize all of the details to your party or event, as well as a special message to invited guests!
Checkered flags are associated with car racing, so be sure to incorporate black and white checkered decorations into your themed event. Hang a checkered pennant banner in your party space by draping it over the entranceway, along the walls or off of a gift or snack table.
When decorating for a child’s birthday party, place a variety of different racing cutouts on the walls. Kids will love these NASCAR and racing decorations!
For more decorating pieces, you can hang some race car tire danglers from the ceiling, and/or have the guests walk up to the party on a race track floor runner. Kids will especially enjoy walking on a race track carpet runner!
Place some racing themed balloons in the entranceway of the party area, or on the table as a decorative table addition.
Food and Drink
If you are throwing a NASCAR race watch party, set up a buffet table with snacks and treats that guest can help themselves to and easily eat while watching the race. Serve tailgating type foods like burgers and hotdogs, as well as other great easy-to-make side dishes. Place a red table cloth over the table and set out black and white checkered paper plates and napkins to eat off of. Serve drinks in matching paper cups!
If you are throwing a child’s birthday party, you can use the same setup, but you’ll want to serve pizza and cake, rather than appetizers. You can also place some table decorations along the table, such as a race car wheel centerpiece, racing themed balloons, or checkered flags. The checkered flags could also double as party favors for the kids to take home!
As a fun activity for a child’s racing birthday party, have the kids take turns hitting a race car piñata! Fill it with candy and other goodies.
Collect racing and NASCAR items to hand out to the kids in goodie bags once the party is over. Use racing car loot bags and fill them with items like an individual hot wheels car, racing themed pencils, checkered flag bead necklaces, checkered glow sticks, and much more!
