Each orange maraca comes on a break-away 30" rainbow lanyard and includes batteries which are included and installed, but not replaceable. Just turn the switch to on and watch the 2 LED's light this fabulous noisemaker. Perfect for your hot, hot, conga lines or just to make some noise at the party. All the items worked perfectly, but I do wish that the plastic had been a little more opaque, so the lights weren't quite so jarring. All in all, they were what I expected.
