i bought these to sell at a summer fundraiser. i remember having these as a kid so i knew the kids at my event would love them as well as being functional for my adult guests as well.

Out of the four dozen (48) we ordered only 3 were not usable as a fan. We will adjust and still use as a decoration. We love the bright colors.

Really good value, but would be better as decorations, rather than favors - most of the fans broke before the girls (ages 6-7) even got them home.

I purchased over two hundred of these fans to be used as promo gifts to all the local members of the organization I belong to. I liked the idea of giving out something useful, since the location for our convention tends to be rather warm during the summer. The fans are packed 12 to box.Each box was opened so I could inspect one or two from each box. The first box contained 3 fans that came apart when unfolded. I ended up checking all the fans one by one and ended up with 24 that were broken. I also found them to have very sharp edges on the handles. I did call Windy City Novelties and they were kind enough to send me 24 to replace the broken ones at no extra charge. If you purchase any of these fans, be prepared to do a little work on them to remove the sharp edges and have a glue gun ready. They are otherwise a nice little inexpensive gift to give as a token of appreciation or promo item.

We gave these as party favors for an "all-girls" party, ages 8 to 16, passing them out 5 minutes before the guests left. These were not rough girls, but apparently, many fans tore as soon as they opened them. The paper, although pretty and colorful, is just too flimsy for party favors. They would be very pretty for decorations, though.

Unfortunately, a large majority of the fans ripped as we were opening them (and we were being very careful). We were only using for decorations, so we were able to compensate by overlapping them, but it was still a disappointment.
