Have tournament fever? Embrace the Wii party
May 13, 2009
With the NBA and the NHL playoffs in full swing, some sport fans be getting a little tournament-happy and need a fun outlet to work out their competitive emotions.
Here is where the Nintendo Wii party comes into play.
Thanks to its wireless remotes and ability to allow four people to play a game at the same time, the innovative game console has been a favorite at house parties and late-night get-togethers.
Since the maximum amount of players is four in most games that is the ideal number of people to invite. However, if you do choose to have more guests, make sure there are two sets of groups or teams that can switch off to ensure everyone gets a turn.
While party decorations may not be needed, a goodie bag or party favors may be in order, especially if it's a tournament where one player or team will be crowned the winner at the end of the event.
As for snacks, people who worry about food stains on their Wii remotes should avoid anything too messy and perhaps stick to popcorn and pretzels. Just be sure there is a food table somewhere in the vicinity as playing MarioKart can work up an appetite.
