Have a sundae Monday party
June 10, 2009
Hear that screaming? It's for ice cream.
With the official start of summer just around the corner, party planners may want to start gathering tubs of their favorite ice cream flavors to host a sundae Monday party.
This involves setting the kitchen table up with various flavors, at least five should be plenty, as well as toppings for your party guests to choose from to make their own ice cream sundae.
As for toppings, include some common ones such as M&Ms, crushed peanuts, Kit-Kat bars, crushed Oreos and, of course, sprinkles. Also, don't forget hot fudge and caramel, because an ice cream sundae can't have enough sweet elements to it.
Adding some cut-up fruit, such as bananas and strawberries, can enhance the taste of these homemade sundaes as well.
Make sure to provide enough ice cream scoopers for people to use and try to make sure guests know not to mix and match scoopers with different flavors.
Finally, for party decorations create a banner that says Sundae Monday! which may be as much fun to say as it is to participate in.
