Get creative and bring Mario Kart to life
June 19, 2009
Playing Mario Kart on the Nintendo Wii doesn't have to mean sitting in a chair with a plastic wheel. For creative party planners, why not have guests construct their own racekarts they can sit in?
First, send out party invitations and request each guest dress up as their favorite character in the game. This can include Mario, Luigi, Peach and Yoshi.
Next, find some old boxes that can be broken down and used to create a makeshift Mario Kart racer. Just be sure it's rectangular in shape and that it's low enough for the player to still see the television as he or she is "driving."
For the more creative participants, this can double as an arts and craft party, as some kids may want to use markers or glue to make their car a little different. Think about using some old lids from plastic containers to double as wheels.
Finally, be sure to have party prizes or goodie bags for all the participants. You hand out awards for the most creative, best driver or best dressed.
